BUILDING PHYSICAL WELLNESS
The importance of physical wellness is highly stressed in GHMZBRI, according to the doctrine of Guang Huan Mi Zong Buddhism. Students are required to participate in a series of basic physical exercises and conduct daily Esoteric Dharma practice in order to maintain and improve physical and mental health.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
The students' spiritual growth can be attained under the guidance of Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi, in order to achieve a high level of communication with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Through participating in school courses, training, special events and Dharma conventions, they can develop spiritual awareness and inner strength.
SPECIAL BUDDHIST EVENTS
Special Buddhist Events include the birthday celebrations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as well as memorial days such as World Peace and Health Day. GHMZBRI provides opportunities for students to develop their organizing and managerial skills and exert their abilities when planning the celebration events.
STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
Students, faculty and staff are actively involved in a mutual effort to build and maintain an environment that emphasizes wholesome attitudes, healthy habits, and the enhancement of interests and skills, to develop wisdom and potential for students' personal growth.
PRECEPTS AND RULES TO FOLLOW
All GHMZBRI students are expected to abide by Guang Huan Mi Zong Precepts and all rules and regulations of the Western Shrine at all times.The meaning of precepts will not be altered by time, culture or individual explanation. Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi or an authorized Management Committee reserves all rights of final explanation of the precepts.
Students are expected to abide by all local, state and federal laws.
Students are expected to accept his/her responsibility as a member of the Guang Huan Mi Zong Community and abide by its reasonable expectations and standards meet with a cooperative spirit.
STUDENT CONCERNS
GHMZBRI adopts an open-door policy for all students. They can voice their concerns, suggestions and needs, contribute to the solving of problems or difficulties that they may experience in this community.
All should be addressed in writing to the Academic Curriculum Committee. All other non-academic matters may be brought to the attention of the faculty, Student Affairs Office.
TOBACCO, ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Smoking, gambling, drugs and alcohol abuse are completely prohibited in the GHMZBRI in all circumstances. Alcohol will only be allowed on certain special occasions with the permission of Holy Master Ziguang Shang Shi or the Management Committee.
